There were some great new products at the Digital Signage Expo this year, including new digital signage software, some great examples of content for hotel digital signs and restaurant digital menu boards, and some cool new interactive kiosks and 3d displays. I'll be posting more videos and interviews with industry leaders in the next few weeks.
One of the most popular and 'sexy' new products at the show was the new Microtile displays by Christie Digital. These little mini-projector+screen displays are like building blocks in the sense that you can build a video wall of any shape and size. This means you can create a video wall in a U shape, a big circle, or incorporate into a product display, no longer do video screens need to be square or rectangle. This video clip shows the entrance to the show and a use of the Microtiles in a 'stair-step' type layout in the Scala booth.
