Outrigger Enterprises launches digital signage network at Outrigger Waikiki on the Beach.

Outrigger Enterprises Group has launched the first property rollout of its digital signage network.  Outrigger installed four NEC LCD screens in the Outrigger Waikiki first floor lobby, adjacent the elevators.  The screens display a variety of guest-targeted content, and are powered by a PC running customized digital signage software.  Digital Signage continues to gain popularity with the hospitality industry as more hotels realize the power and cost savings of using digital displays.  Digital signage can also be used for conveying emergency and ADA compliant messaging to guests throughout a property.

"Our digital display facing the main elevators provides our guests with information on Outrigger's weekly events and activities, Waikiki traffic updates, up to the minute weather forecasts, and more,” said Jim Heather, Outrigger Waikiki General Manager.  “This is a great compliment to our daily guest newsletter which helps keep our guests well informed,” added Heather. “Plus, we can easily change the display at any time."  The system also allows Outrigger staff to quickly add a ticker with additional daily updates, special guest welcomes and other information.

Outrigger shops and restaurants immediately showed interest in participating in the display network.  Waikiki Plantation Spa at the Outrigger Waikiki was one of the first property merchants to go live on the new displays.  "We've always been open to new ways to communicate with the hotel guests, so this eye-catching solution made sense right away to us and we've already started to see results,” said Dr. Gary Bell, Owner of Waikiki Plantation Spa at the Outrigger Waikiki. 

Barbara Campbell, Outrigger Vice President of Retail Development and Leasing adds that she sees great value to Outrigger retailers.  "Our digital signage network is a great way for our shops and restaurants to give timely information and offers to guests when they are moving throughout the property,” said Campbell .  Outrigger plans to add additional properties and display locations to its network, further increasing the value to Outrigger guests and retailers.
